The Kansas City Track Club plays a big role in making KC an exciting town for runners. Whether you want to race or just jog or walk, KC has marathons, halves and everything in between and beyond. In a summer month, you can run a blistering mile, a tough 50K ultra on the trails or take your pick of 5K’s. KCTC provides race director, consulting, course measurement and finish line services for over 25 races each year - races that raise thousands of dollars for local charities. Our premier event is the Brew to Brew - a 43 mile solo and relay run from KC to Lawrence, KS, with over 3000 runners competing and $40,000 raised for Cystic Fibrosis in 2007.
On the non-competitive side we hold weekly free fun runs where everyone, including non-members, is welcome. KCTC has been sponsoring the Wednesday Night Run potluck, a movable feast that meets at local runners homes for a run or walk and dinner, for almost 30 years. We also have a low key Monday night run that ends with food and drinks at the 75th Street Brewery in Waldo. And every Jan 1st we hold a free New Year’s Day run. KCTC also offers 10-week training sessions on Monday evenings for beginning runners several times a year.
